The Carson City Republican Committee is pleased to have Mayor Crowell at our October 24 General Meeting to discuss what it has meant for him to be Mayor and how to get involved and participate in City Government. Mayor Crowell has led Carson City to the top 100 on Milken Institute Best-Performing Cities Index. Carson City made the second biggest leap in the rankings of 201 cities, jumping 78 spots from 141 in 2017 to 63 in 2018. Carson City was ranked third in job growth from 2016-2017 and 50th in job growth in the 12-month period between August 2017 and 2018.

Mayor Crowell mentioned in his 2019 State of the City – “the credit for all the good things happening in the community we call home goes to you,” he said. “Government can do some things, but it takes you, the community, to build sustainability for succeeding generations and a quality of life that is the envy of all.”

We meet at the Carson City Casino Fandango on Thursday, October 24th. Our registration and social hour begin at 6PM with a no-host bar and the meeting starts promptly at 7PM. Our general meeting is open to the public regardless of political affiliation. NO RSVP is required.

Robert L. "Bob" Crowell is a native Nevadan, born in the mining town of Tonopah and raised in Carson City. An attorney by profession, Bob is a Vietnam Veteran and retired Navy Captain.
Bob was elected Mayor of Carson City in 2008 and assumed his duties as Mayor on January 5, 2009. Prior to being elected Mayor, Bob served 11 years on Carson City School Board of Trustees. He has twice served as School Board president.
In his capacity as Mayor, Bob serves as Carson City’s representative on the Nevada Association of Counties Board of Directors and is that organization’s representative on Board of Indigent Defense Services created by 80th session of the Nevada Legislature and appointed by the Governor. Bob also serves as the president of the Nevada League of Cities and Municipalities. He is a member of the Carson City Redevelopment Authority and chairs the Partnership Carson City Advisory Committee.
Active in his community, Bob has served on the Board of Directors for the Carson Area Chamber of Commerce and is a Past President of that organization. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Northern Nevada Development Authority and is past president of the Rotary Club of Carson City.
