Caleb Montgomery, known as The Cosmic Cowboy, is a genre-bending Americana and Country artist redefining the edges of both progressive and traditional country music.
Raised in a family of musicians five and six generations deep, Caleb was immersed early in the sounds of country and classic rock. His father, a touring artist in the 1990s, even took the stage at the legendary Ryman Auditorium—a legacy Caleb now carries forward with pride.
Though a guitar was always close by, Caleb didn’t begin sharing his music publicly until college. Feeling out of place, he poured himself into songwriting—playing late into the night in his dorm room. Word spread quickly, and students gathered outside to listen. Encouraged, Caleb returned home determined to carve out his own place in the country music landscape.
Caleb’s songwriting dives deep into small-town life, exploring young love, heartbreak, loss, and redemption—often with a dose of honky-tonk joy. Drawing inspiration from Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Jerry Reed, Tony Rice, John Prine, and even the psychedelic textures of Pink Floyd, his sound blends tradition with experimentation, creating a metamodern country experience that resonates across generations.
