Event Description:
Join us in celebrating Lei Day! We invite the public to participate in our first lei making contest. There will be two categories: adult traditional (made from natural plant materials) and youth non-traditional (made from yarn, ribbon, paper or fabric). The theme will be the color red to honor the island of Hawai`i. For the adult contest, the awards are $100 for first place and $50 for second place. For the youth contest, the awards are $75 for first place and $25 for second place. The rules for the Lei Contest are posted on the Museum’s website. Lei Contest forms, which are required for entry, will be available on the Museum’s website in March. We look forward to seeing everyone’s creativity! Mahalo (thank you)!
