Heritage Days Battle Trains
History comes to life on Labor Day weekend as Comstock Civil War re-enactors bring epic battles to the Comstock in Virginia City and Gold Hill. Trains played a vital role during the Civil War by transporting supplies and troops from one place to the other, making them a popular target for ambushes. Join us to relive one of the bloodiest wars in American history. Listen to the Fort Point Band play authentic era music. Get your dose of cold lead right from your seat on the Virginia & Truckee Railroad while rooting for Yankee and Rebel soldiers as they shoot out battle scenes on the Comstock.
Battle trains run Saturday and Sunday, including a Saturday evening Champagne Battle Train. Advance reservations recommended. Departures are from the original V&T 1870 passenger depot at 166 F Street in Virginia City.
