Pops on The River
Pops on the River returns Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Wingfield Park! Gates open at 5 p.m. Don’t miss Pops on the River as we welcome Craig Meyer as (almost) Elton John, Remember When Rock Was Young celebrates decades of chart-topping songs by the legendary Sir Elton John performed with a symphony orchestra – the Reno Phil! Pops on the River is a fundraising event featuring a costume contest, raffle and unforgettable concert.
Every July for 24 years, the Reno Phil has performed Pops on the River, a major fundraising event at Wingfield Park in downtown Reno, completed by decorated tables and costumes throughout the park. Mother Goose, the Donner Party, 42nd St., and the Royal Family have all appeared at this event. Tables are judged and then prizes awarded for the following categories:
- Most Historic
- Most Outrageous
- Most Elegant
- Best Drinkable Concoction
- Best Elton Theme
- & of course, Best of Show!
