NNBA is proud to partner with Reno's only music venue that specializes in traditional music -- instruction, performance and a gorgeous selection of instruments and accessories. The building itself -- built in 1908 -- is a historic landmark in the historic Mid Town District. Whether you're out pickin' on the porch, enjoying a concert in their intimate Recital Hall, or taking a banjo, mountain dulcimer, or fiddle lesson*, you'll feel the spirit of the music.

Come out to the Invitational Pub Jam at Ceol Irish Pub in Reno on Thursday, May 9th from 6 pm to 8 pm. Five different people each week are selected at random by a software program that picks 1 bass, 1 fiddle, 1 guitar, 1 mandolin and 1 banjo. Different group each week. If you want to join, you need to be an intermediate/advanced player with a wide repertoire of Bluegrass music (it helps if you can sing, too). You need to sign up in advance to get onto the list of pickers that are chosen by the computer.

A Bluegrass Music Festival where wild horses roam? Yes, it's true. Washoe Valley is a protected space; the mighty Sierra mountain range rises to the west, and the pinion & juniper-covered Virginia range slopes easily to the east. The area is home to more than two thousand wild horses and an abundance of bird species. Bring binoculars, drive carefully, and look around with intention. There's a lot to see! It's also been home to the Bowers Bluegrass Festival for nearly 40 years! The Bowers Bluegrass Festival takes place in the daylight hours, as the park has no lighting. So you'll have ample evening jamming time at our Group Camp at Washoe Lake State Park.
