The RSIC Language & Culture team has taken all steps to secure the weeks following the loss of elder Beatrice Thayer-gapu, for the family/community to mourn in a good way. Therefore our team has decided to reschedule the 2026 RSIC Native Day celebration. We have decided to move the celebration to Indigenous people’s day Monday October 12, 2026.
All volunteers/partners/RSIC support programs have been flexible and understanding with our RSIC community. We are thankful to our community and leadership for showing the utmost respects to our elder and community.
