In 2015 a group of individuals from the community created a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation to support the Carson City School District’s goal of increasing student achievement through community philanthropic investment and involvement. Serving at the pleasure of the superintendent and the school board, the Carson City Schools Foundation’s leadership works to be a vehicle for community investment in innovative ideas that traditional funding sources can’t support.
As a result of our community’s generosity, from 2016 through 2023 the foundation has donated $201,387 for classroom projects, student aid, department projects, school projects, new teacher support, the Jump Start Program and Advanced Placement exams.

This project is one of the many results of the “Empower Carson City 2017″ strategic plan – a five-year strategic plan built by the community for creating extraordinary schools, and renewed in 2022 as “Empower Carson City 2027“.
